HTML id Attribute

The id attribute defines a unique identifier (ID) which must be unique in the whole document.

Its purpose is to identify the element when scripting (JavaScript) or styling (CSS).

Note: The id is a global attribute and is common to all HTML elements; they can be used on all elements, though they may have no effect on some elements.
