JavaScript onunload Event

The onunload event occurs when the document/page or a child resource is being unloaded.

Note: Unlike onpagehide event, the onunload event will NOT cache the page to be replaced by another page.

onunload Event as Attribute

Example

Syntax

<body onunload = "JavaScript">

As Property

window.onunload = function(){ // code };

Using Event Listener

window.addEventListener("unload" , myScript);

Using addEventListener() Method

Note: The addEventListener() method is not supported in Internet Explorer 8 and below.
